NEW YORK: US stocks powered to fresh records on Wednesday, with the Dow topping 21,000 for the first time, after President Donald Trump struck a more conciliatory note in a major address on Tuesday night.
All three major US equity indices smashed past records, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 303.31 points (1.46 per cent) to end at 21,115.55.

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA- Reliance Securities mengemukakan meskipun indeks harga saham gabungan menguat kemarin, secara teknikal pola candlestick yang terbentuk justru cenderung negatif.
Yaitu dengan pola bearish counter attack yang tepat terlihat tertahan pada upper bollinger bands.
Indikator Stochastic cenderung bergerak positif tetapi secara momentum terlihat menekan pat pada middle oscillator.
Oleh karena itu, pada hari ini IHSG diperkirakan bergerak cenderung mixed tertekan di kisaran 5.248-5.315.
Saham-saham yang dapat diperhatikan di antaranya INCO, INTP, KLBF, PGAS, dan SCMA.
Seperti diketahui, pada Rabu, IHSG ditutup menguat 0,03% atau 1,69 poin ke level 5.293,78.
Dari 549 saham yang diperdagangkan, sebanyak 132 saham menguat, 174 saham melemah, dan 233 saham lainnya stagnan.
Empat dari sembilan sektor yang tercatat di Bursa Efek Indonesia bergerak di zona hijau, didorong oleh sektor industri dasar yang melesat 1,59% dan sektor konsumer yang menguat 0,25%.

U.S. stocks climbed on Wednesday and the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed atop the 20,000 mark for the first time as solid earnings and optimism over President Donald Trump's pro-growth initiatives revitalized a post-election rally.
Trump has made several business-friendly decisions since taking office on Friday, including signing executive orders to reduce regulatory burden on domestic manufacturers and clearing the way for the construction of two oil pipelines.
The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq Composite indexes also closed at record highs for a second consecutive session.
The Dow came within a point of the historic mark on Jan. 6, as investors banked on pro-growth policies and tax cuts many expect from the new administration.
However, the index had struggled in recent weeks as investors awaited clarity on the new administration's policies grew cautious.
"It was definitely a milestone that the market has been focused on for really the better part of two months and you were starting to get a little bit of anxiety as to whether it was going to be surmounted or not," said Julian Emanuel, equity strategist at UBS in New York.
"We are particularly encouraged to see financials acting well again because they have been the leadership."

Bisnis.com, JAKARTA- Waterfront Securities memprediksi indeks harga saham gabungan pada pekan depan akan menguat disertai koreksi tipis.
“Untuk pekan depan diperkirakan IHSG akan menguat moderat disertai koreksi tipis,” kata Octavianus Marbun, Analis Waterfront Securities, dalam risetnya.
Dikemukakan level resisten terdekat untuk pekan depan berada di level 5.360. Level support terdekat di 5.260.
“Perhatikan gap yang terlihat di pekan ini dan di pekan-pekan sebelumnya,” kata Octavianus.
Level koreksi wajar dengan maksimum terbawah berada di level 5140.
“Indeks bergerak pada indikator bollinger band menandakan koreksi masih dapat terjadi,” kata Octavianus.
Apabla level gap tidak dilewati, ujarnya, maka melihat posisi oeversold akan terjadi kembali, dan IHSG akan terkoreksi tipis.
Dia mengemmukakan penguatan jangka panjang akan dihiasi dengan koreksi wajar, dan membentuk pola penguatan yang tidak terlalu cepat secara mid-term apabila ingin menguat.
